2004 German Village Society-Caretakers of A Legacy Commissioner’s Award for a  Deshler Avenue Residence rear addition

2003 Victorian Village Annual Award for Design- for an outstanding rear addition to a Neil Avenue Residence

2001 Winner of the National Chrysalis Award - in the Historic Renovation category for the Midwest region - sponsored by Professional Remodeler Magazine. Awards were presented at the Southern Building Show in Charlotte, North Carolina. "The purpose of the awards is to identify remodeling companies who are the best at what they do," says Ken Kanline, Director of the awards, "and winning in this hotly contested category certainly identifies Behal Sampson Dietz as one of them."

1999 Winner of a Pacesetter Award - in the design category - from Custom Home Magazine. Behal Sampson Dietz was profiled in the November/December 1999 issue of Custom Home Magazine and was presented the award at the 1999 Custom Builder Symposium in Atlanta on October 23. The awards are co-sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) - Custom Builders Committee.

1999 Building Industry Association of Central Ohio - Best Design in a Home over $600,000 - MAME Awards (Marketing and Merchandising Excellence).

First Place Award - "Can This Kitchen Be Saved?" Contest - sponsored by Remodeling Magazine. Featured on the cover and in April 1997 issue Remodeling Magazine (1997).

Best in American Living Award (BALA) - Best In Region Award - sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and Professional Builder Magazine. Featured in January 1997 issue of Professional Builder Magazine. The award was presented at the International Builders Show in Houston, Texas in January 1997.

Columbus Monthly, January 2001, “A Historic House Reborn” by Sherry Beck Paparaocki. Features the renovation and expansion of an old farmhouse overlooking the Olentangy valley.

Inland Architect, April/May 2000, "Goodbye Columbus, Hello Provence" by Barbara A. Nadel, FAIA. Article features an interview with John Behal on the architectural transformation of a German Village stone cutting plant into an interior designer's residence.

Columbus Monthly, April 2000, "Updating A Classic" by Sherry Beck Paprocki. Features the renovation and interior design of a home built in 1931. John Behal was the architect for this project.

Remodeling Magazine, February 2000, Behal Sampson Dietz (formerly NSD) was listed as #91 for The Remodeling 100 (the industry's largest companies) - the top 100 remodeling firms in the United States.

Columbus Monthly, October 1999, "Fun With Powder Rooms" by Sherry Beck Paparocki. One of BSD's local powder rooms is featured and John Behal is interviewed.

Columbus Monthly, August 1999, "Turning Your Attic Into Living Space" by Josie Rubio. John Behal's German Village attic space was featured on the front cover of the Columbus Monthly Homes as well as another client's renovated attic space.
